In Process: Putnam Hotel Study / Bennington Courthouse Redevelopment
Union Studio is collaborating with Stevens & Associates on a feasibility study involving the historic Putnam Hotel and surrounding buildings. Rehabilitation of this full block is viewed as a key component of the Town’s revitalization. The schematic site plan shows multiple options for housing, retail, commercial and cultural uses. Currently Union Studio is developing construction documents for the former courthouse building to be converted to retail, mercantile, and office use.
New Project: Hyannis Properties
Conceptual design for this new neighborhood in Hyannis includes 28 townhomes with approximately 70 studio, 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom units.
New Project: Tremont Nail Factory Redevelopment
The Tremont Nail Factory was the oldest continuously functioning nail factory in the country, with buildings up to 150 years old. The 7.2 acre waterfront site features eight buildings totaling approximately 48,000 sf. MassDevelopment hired Union Studio to lead a revisioning process for the site that is examining possible rehabilitation strategies that would be most preferential and beneficial to the community. New Project: Reed’s Crossing
Union Studio is assisting a private developer with this new residential neighborhood outside of Portland, OR. Our scope includes defining the architectural character for the neighborhood and detailing the character and standards for the diverse housing types in the first phase of the development. Union Studio is working closely with the city, local land planner, landscape architect and civil engineers towards a ground breaking later in 2017.
In Process: Cochecho Waterfront Conceptual Plan
Multiple entities have been working hard to revitalize the waterfront of this New Hampshire town. Union Studio is focusing on a concept plan for the future private sector development plan that will maximize economic development opportunities. This mixed-use plan includes residential, commercial and restaurant space while emphasizing walkability and leveraging the Town’s waterfront amenities.
New Project: Old Wauhatchie Pike
In this collaboration with Mike Watkins, Architect, Union Studio is providing a collection of prototype unit designs for a new master planned community in Chattanooga, TN.
In Construction: WaterRower Headquarters
There are approximately two months of construction remaining on the new WaterRower headquarters. WaterRower, Inc. is growing company that designs and sells rowing simulation equipment to an international audience from its headquarters in the historic, waterfront neighborhood of Warren, RI. Union Studio has designed a corporate visitor’s center and headquarters that will provide an engaging environment for clients and employees. An existing manufacturing building is being renovated, and one, new 30,000 sf building is also being built on the site. The facility includes marketing, sales, and administrative offices, a product museum, a showroom, gym space for product demonstrations, and a lunch room.
In Construction: Emerson Green Phase 1
Final touches are being completed on the first phase of this new residential neighborhood located on the former Fort Devens military base. Union Studio is serving as the land planner, architects and co-developers of this project. Phase One includes 17 units within single family homes and duplexes lining Chance Street. This traditional neighborhood development is designed to bring sustainable housing options to the active Devens community. Future phases will include townhomes and a multifamily building. In Construction: Brentwood Assisted Living
Union Studio designed a 45,000 sf assisted living facility for seniors that is almost complete. The new building features 74 units on three floors with dining, kitchen, exercise, and community activity space. Flexible space including an outdoor patio with views to Greenwich Bay will provide additional shared space for residents. Nurses stations will be located on all three floors as will shared balconies and sitting areas. Typical rooms range from 300 to 370 sf.
In Construction: Private Residence
Nearing completion in June of 2017 this custom home is Located on a 2.5 acre site with sweeping views of Narragansett Bay. This 4,500 sf residence features an open floor plan and ample balcony and patio space to take advantage of the waterfront location.
Recently Completed: RI State Police Lincoln Barracks Renovation
Built in 1931, this State-owned building required extensive interior and exterior renovations and an addition to bring it to a state of the art law enforcement facility. Union Studio’s scope included full architectural services with interior design, advanced security system upgrades, life safely updates, FF&E, and the design of an elegant new addition that connects two previously separate buildings.
