Paul AttemannAIA, LEED AP, CNU

Principal

A motivating, positive force for colleagues and clients, consistently creating a “sense of place” on projects with tight budgets and layers of design constraints.

Paul began his career in Santa Fe, New Mexico but after five years of uninspiring suburban sprawl projects, he returned to the Ocean State in search of more connected, urban work. He joined Union as one of the firm’s first employees and has been a backbone of Union ever since, leading projects that range from scattered site affordable housing, to adaptive reuse of all types, to new regional office headquarters. His expertise in affordable housing design is especially sought after by clients and community members.

Paul’s easygoing nature makes him a natural team leader. He finds great pleasure in collaborating with colleagues, clients, and consultants, recognizing that such close collaboration is essential to creating great places. He is an active member of the Congress for the New Urbanism, the President of the Boston Estonian Society, and served on the Zoning Board of Review in Warren, Rhode Island for 10 years.

Paul received a Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design and is a licensed professional architect.
