Arica Thornton

Thoughtful designer, passionate about healthy communities that can remain resilient through climate change.

Arica is a designer and urban planner who works at a variety of scales in the office. She is passionate about designing places that contribute to healthy, equitable, and livable neighborhoods. Arica is interested in the intersection of public health and the built environment and how designers and planners can improve the quality of life for underserved communities.

When not working, Arica can be found exploring the city with her husband and two children and using her novice gardening skills to create an allergy-friendly garden oasis for her family.

Arica earned a dual Master of Architecture and Community Planning from the University of Maryland, and a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Arts and a minor in Psychology, magna cum laude, from the Catholic University of America.
