As Managing Partner at Union, Douglas leads the firm’s management and strategic direction. He collaborates directly with clients on diverse projects and has served as the principal architect for many of the firm’s award-winning designs, including mixed-use developments, resilient buildings, civic institutions, academic housing, hospitality venues, and community and supportive housing.
With over two decades of experience across a broad range of building types, Douglas brings a unique blend of business acumen, technical expertise, and design skill to the projects and clients he serves.
Due in large part to Douglas’ leadership, Union has significantly expanded its team of professionals and has earned a reputation regionally and nationally for bringing exceptional community design expertise and vision to complex projects throughout the country. He’s spoken nationally on a variety of subjects and is committed to bringing lasting contributions to the clients and communities that Union serves.
Douglas is a member of the Harvard Alumni Real Estate Board, the Congress for the New Urbanism, the Urban Guild, and is on the advisory board for the ACE Mentorship Program of Rhode Island. He currently serves as Vice President of the Rhode Island AIA Architectural Forum, and is Past President and Morse Stone Fellow of the Rhode Island Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
Douglas received his Bachelor of Architecture from Syracuse University, where he graduated with Honors, and his Master of Design Studies with a focus on real estate finance and strategic management from the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University.
