Creating urban living on the frontier.

The site of this pocket neighborhood in Edmond, Oklahoma sits on a 2.3 acre parcel on Littler Ave, between 8th and 9th Street. Designed to foster community living and engagement, charming cottages are assembled around common courtyards and pedestrian passages. Rather than each residence sitting on a lot with its own expansive lawn, public green spaces and amenities are shared among the residents..

The developer envisioned ‘The Ember’ as a place where the value of one’s life is not dictated by scale but by the quality of time spent and experiences had. Here, American urban living is celebrated and encouraged as it once was, with walks to the coffee shop, jaunts to the farmers market on summer Saturday mornings, strolls under the shade of oak trees, and days that wind down with drinks on the porch with friends.

This community design recreates what once was mainstream neighborhood living in urban America—smaller homes, shared amenities, spaces to gather, front porches, close to town, schools, post office, arts, restaurants, nature, and activity.
