Union led the comprehensive rehabilitation of this west Providence apartment building into supportive housing for disabled and formerly homeless individuals. Beginning with a thorough capital needs assessment and documentation of existing conditions, the design created 51 affordable, supportive housing units. A renovated first floor provides 2,000-square-foot of clinical space anchoring critical on-site support services provided by Riverwood Mental Health Services.
This rehabilitation modernized the four-story building with structural repairs, energy-efficient systems and enhanced community spaces—creating a secure, comfortable environment where residents can rebuild their lives.
