From Parking Lot to Place: MacArthur Landing Breaks Ground
Boutique residences and ground-floor vitality begin taking shape in the heart of Quincy Center
Construction has begun on MacArthur Landing, a new residential community at the corner of Chestnut and Maple Streets designed to complete a pivotal block in downtown Quincy, Massachusetts. The five-story building transforms a long-underused surface parking lot into meaningful urban fabric—100 new homes and resident amenities designed to animate the street and strengthen pedestrian life in Quincy Center.
Inside, a curated unit mix—studios through two-bedroom apartments, townhomes, and guest suites—serves a discerning rental market. Resident amenities consolidate on the top floor: a fitness studio, club room, and generous outdoor terraces. Two levels of structured parking, including one below grade, accommodate 100 vehicles while preserving the building’s street presence and pedestrian-scaled character.
When complete, MacArthur Landing will strengthen the pedestrian connection from the Pocket Park toward the MBTA Red Line and Hancock Adams Common, anchoring Quincy Center’s continued revitalization. It is a bridge between what this corner was and what it will become—a gathering place for a new generation of residents and visitors to call downtown home.
Completion is anticipated in 2028.
