On The Boards: Q3 2025
A look at a few projects currently in development at Union.
Sprague Street
Portsmouth, Rhode Island
The Sprague Street Portsmouth projects have won unanimous approval from the Portsmouth Planning Board. Once funded, this project will provide 40 affordable condo units geared towards families. According to Church Community Housing, Portsmouth currently has a total of 12 affordable family units (aka not set aside for seniors or individuals with disabilities) in the entire town, so this would have a major impact on families seeking affordable housing on Aquidneck Island.
MacArthur Landing
Quincy, Massachusetts
Union is designing MacArthur Landing, a new residential community along Chestnut Street that builds on Quincy Center’s ongoing downtown revitalization. The project strengthens neighborhood connections through walkable streets, improved sidewalks, and public spaces that invite people to gather. By introducing thoughtfully scaled housing within reach of transit and local amenities, MacArthur Landing supports a more vibrant and inclusive Quincy Center.
Camp Rocky Farm
Newport, Rhode Island
Camp Rocky Farm in Newport, RI is getting a makeover! The project is in the last stages of building permit approvals before groundbreaking in the late fall. Phase 1 of the project will include gut rehab of the existing lodge, demolition of the caretaker cottage, and construction of three pavilions – a new welcome center, outdoor kitchen, and archery range.
