Ben & Douglas Present at Temple University

Thank you to Professor Fauzia Sadiq Garcia for inviting us to join a vibrant discussion! Our presentation to Temple University architecture students distilled our 25 years of affordable housing design experience into a compelling presentation about creating dignified, community-focused places rather than stigmatized "projects." Our core message: "Affordable housing should be a false distinction."

“The test isn’t simply whether we can provide enough homes at the right price, but whether in doing so we can help others become healthier, freer and more likely to participate in the broader community of which they are a part.”

Douglas Kallfelz, Co-Founder & Managing Partner, Union

The presentation showcased successful projects where the principles of context-sensitive design, community-first planning and architectural integrity created vibrant communities indistinguishable from market-rate housing.
