Recently featured in WhatsUp Newport is the recently completed 54-unit development in Middletown, Rhode Island that provides much-needed affordable housing for seniors on Aquidneck Island — a region where affordable housing remains in critical demand.

Union reaches a significant milestone with West House II, our first multi-family affordable Passive House project that is soon to be certified. This innovative project represents more than housing—it’s a sustainable, dignified community that addresses Rhode Island’s severe housing crisis while pioneering environmental standards.

The development features 40 one-bedroom and 14 two-bedroom units designed for residents 55 and older who earn up to 80% of the area median income. Located adjacent to the existing West House I, residents will benefit from shared amenities including dining facilities, fitness centers, and resident services.
