This 2,200 sf cabin was designed for a young family from San Francisco who spend a great deal of their free time rock climbing, biking, canoeing and fishing in Yosemite National Park and the surrounding wilderness. Overlooking Mono Lake and inspired by the nearby ghost town of Bode, CA, this highly efficient home is designed to maximize views of the surrounding mountains while maintaining a clear connection to the best local architectural vernacular. The home features 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, air-to-air heat pumps, a super insulated shell and is designed to withstand the 100 MPH winds that often blow through the valley. Construction is expected to be completed in fall 2012.
