Hometown: Toledo, Ohio
Favorite place and why: Old Mission Peninsula, which is just outside of Traverse City on the shore of Lake Michigan. Farms, small restaurants and vineyards overlook a bright blue Grand Traverse Bay. I’ve been there with my family every summer since I was 12, and my parents live there now, so it is home to many great memories – many of which include a beach chair, smoked whitefish dip and a cold glass of local gewurtztraminer.
Non-Philosophical idol: Tina Fey
Guilty Pleasure: Movies that involve natural disasters.
Favorite piece of art/music/writing: “The Italians” by Cy Twombly.
Source of Pride: An amazing group of friends who are willing to mobilize to do something fun, or to offer support, at the drop of a hat. Either that or my rescue rabbit, Henry. It’s a tie.
