Recently Completed: Trinity Townhomes
Eleven new, affordable townhomes at Trinity Place have been completed and are on the market, ending the second phase of development for this urban infill project. Trinity Townhomes provide affordable three-bedroom townhouses for ownership on newly established lots starting at $134,000 each. New Project: Mount Hope Bay
Working with The Peregrine Group, Union Studio is designing the new construction of 60-70 market-rate residential units in duplex buildings with approximately 3,500 sf of livable area per unit. The development is located on a sloping waterfront site overlooking Mount Hope Bay.
New Project: Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center Renovations
The non-profit EBC Center serves individuals and families affected by abuse. Union Studio has been hired to convert the interior of their historic 1920’s schoolhouse building from a shelter to 6-8 rental apartments for individuals or families that require EBC’s services.
New Project: 2-Year Extension of MassDevelopment “On-Call Planning & Permitting” Contract
Various Locations, MA
Union Studio has served as a planning and permitting consultant for MassDevelopment on an “on-call” basis from 2011-2013, and will again for the period 2013-2015 thanks to the recent contract renewal. MassDevelopment is a quasi-public Massachusetts agency empowered to promote economic development by leveraging the Commonwealth’s real estate assets. The organization typically uses the planning services provided under this contract, combined with additional development metrics, to draft proposals for recruitment of potential development partners.
Recently Completed: Quest Montessori School
Quest Montessori moved into their new building in mid-July, in time to start the school year in their first new facility. This 12,500 sf building will host approximately 150 students from ages 18 months to 15 years. Stay tuned for more photos once Quest settles in…
In Construction: San Juan Passage
Union Studio has designed five new prototype homes that are under construction in Washington State’s San Juan Passage island neighborhood. The new prototypes will be the design basis for approximately 30 new homes, with a pavilion and playing courts also included as a neighborhood amenity. Construction Documents: 514 Broadway (The Prentice House)
After a pause in this revitalization project, Union Studio is working with CommunityWorks RI to convert this landmark historic home into four residential units. The revised program includes one owner-occupied unit and three rental units that will be deed restricted.
