New projects, projects in construction, and projects that now have graphics!
New Project: Brentwood Assisted Living
Union Studio is designing a 45,000 sf assisted living facility for seniors. The new building will feature 74 units on three floors with dining, kitchen, exercise, and community activity space. Flexible space including an outdoor patio with views to Greenwich Bay will provide additional shared space for residents. Nurse’s stations will be located on all three floors as will shared balconies and sitting areas. Typical rooms range from 300 to 370 sf.
New Project: Horseshoe Bluff
Working with a private developer, Union Studio is designing the conceptual master plan and architecture for a mixed-use neighborhood near Sacramento, CA. The site, divided into 2 phases, will feature 213 residential units, a community center, a hotel, restaurants, corner store, and five fruit sheds.
New Project: Hingham Selectmen’s Parcel
Town of Hingham and the Hingham Affordable Housing Trust selected the team of Union Studio, Horsley Witten, and Leedara Zola for the design of up to 40 units of affordable /mixed-income housing on this 12 + acre site. The unit mix will include 1, 2, and 3 bedroom units for residents ranging from 50% to 120% AMI. The project is to be designed to the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development’s LIP Guidelines with the goal of obtaining a Comprehensive Permit for future development.
New Project: Aaron Briggs Apartment Renovation
Fast-tracked renovations to this 69,245 sf building will update 88 units of senior affordable housing. The project is being completed for the non-profit developer POAH (Preservation of Affordable Housing).
New Project: Naperotic Residence
Located on a 2.5 acre site with sweeping views of Narragansett Bay, this new 4,500 sf residence will feature an open floor plan and ample balcony and patio space to take advantage of the waterfront location.
Completed Project: Sigma Chi Fraternity, University of Rhode Island
This newly completed 12,000 sf fraternity house will be home to 40 students. The second and third floors provide student bedrooms and small, common sitting areas, as well as a library, social room, and apartment for the resident House Mother. On the first floor, the dining room and adjacent charter room are connected by large glass doors to a central, west-facing terrace creating an ideal setting for indoor and outdoor community gatherings.
